Nope: trust the Self does not exist without trusting the body, which is the only thing that is present in the moment where truth resides. The body can not lie because each moment is the truth of experience. Only the body has that experience of now in the absolute sense, and so trust the Self is synonymous with 'trust the body.'
Now, that is something difficult to do in our bully culture suffused ubiquitously with fear-porn to the right of and to the left of us. We are stuck in the middle with this body, and that is where trust lives waiting for us to open our eyes and minds enough to see it.

So maybe it would work after all, if it was dramatic enough?
