Do you know the best predictor of a future injury?
A past one.
It’s true. We talk about this in the studio all the time.
Bear with me today. I’d like you to think about this at a societal level. If an INDIVIDUAL’S biggest risk factor for injury is a past one, then it stands to reason that this is also true for a SOCIETY.
I consider the past three (now almost four) years to be a giant injury. At the societal level. And it wasn’t a tiny society sprain. It was a career changer.
Let’s have a lil look at our injury report:
Fear. We’ve discussed this before. It prepped the whole game. Like doping, deflating a football, or fixing the world series.
Isolation. More game fixing. Insider trading.
"There is robust evidence that social isolation and loneliness significantly increase risk for premature mortality, and the magnitude of the risk exceeds that of many leading health indicators…Being connected to others socially is widely considered a fundamental human need—crucial to both well-being and survival."" Holt-Lunstad says.
Coercive Control.
Coercive control is a strategic form of ongoing oppression and terrorism used to instill fear. The abuser will use tactics, such as limiting access to money or monitoring all communication, as a controlling effort.
While this form of abuse is illegal in some countries, including the United Kingdom, since 2015, it’s not considered illegal in the United States unless a crime has been committed. (source)

THOSE WHO CANNOT REMEMBER THE PAST ARE CONDEMNED TO REPEAT IT.
Meet Edward Bernays.
Although considered by many to be the “father of public relations”, this propaganda puppet master is unfamiliar to most.
The manipulation of the American mind: Edward Bernays and the birth of public relations
“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, and our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of…. It is they who pull the wires that control the public mind.”
Gah…sounds a little bit like a controlling, abusive asshole. Maybe our societal injury didn’t happen on the ball field, but in an abusive relationship….
Bernays’ publicity campaigns were the stuff of legend. To overcome “sales resistance” to cigarette smoking among women, Bernays staged a demonstration at the 1929 Easter parade, having fashionable young women flaunt their “torches of freedom.”
He promoted Lucky Strikes by convincing women that the forest green hue of the cigarette pack was among the most fashionable of colors. The success of this effort was manifested in innumerable window displays and fashion shows.
Bernays also used fear to sell products. For Dixie cups, Bernays launched a campaign to scare people into thinking that only disposable cups were sanitary. As part of this campaign, he founded the Committee for the Study and Promotion of the Sanitary Dispensing of Food and Drink.
→ Let’s do a quick little refresher….
A subtle form of psychological conditioning provided by the media to acquaint the public with planned societal changes to be implemented by political leaders. Predictive programming at its core is a tactic to reduce resistance by introducing concepts that seem far-fetched and continuously reintroducing them to make these concepts appear more likely or at the very least acceptable.
Duality and dual use.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT FALL FOR IT AGAIN…
BREAK THE CYCLE.
THEY ARE NOT EVEN BEING CLEVER.
THEY ARE JUST RUNNING IT BACK.
AGAIN.
Be this guy…but by rejecting BULLSHIT.
Or dancing.
Or both.
I almost can’t wait for the first fool in a store that tells me I have to put on a mask... almost...
The bravest guy in the video was the first one to join him ... and stay, even after he started partner dancing with him ;-) I knew about the Virginia Slim campaign but not Dixie cups. But bottled water would be more than Bernays ever dreamed--imagine a whole bottle with nothing but water in it ... and people pay for that! As much as a soda!
